Don’t Let New Floors Create a Painting Nightmare

Why Harry’s Carpets recommends the "3/4-inch Rule" for every remodel in Vacaville and Napa.

If we rip out 3/4" tile and put down 1/4" LVT, you get a 1/2" gap. We call this the 'paint line'—and it’s a nightmare. We recommend baseboards at least 3/4" higher than your old ones to hide the old lines so you don't have to repaint the whole house. Enjoy your new floor the second we walk out the door.

Coronado

Coronado: A classic profile that brings a touch of traditional elegance. Ideal for spaces where a refined, stately look is desired.

Santa Fe

The 'Mountain Modern' look. It has a sharp, clean step at the top that catches the light perfectly. It’s a bit more 'architectural' than the Coronado. Great for high ceilings where you want the trim to actually stand out, not just blend in.

Round Edge

The 'Modern Minimalist' favorite. This is currently our highest-trending profile for high-end custom homes because of its crisp, shadow-free transition to the wall.

Pine

The Pet & Water Defense. I recommend MDF for 90% of the house to save money, but we swap to matching Pine in 'drool zones,' bathrooms, or areas with cats. If MDF gets wet, it puffs up; Pine stands its ground.
